how to grow your business page

There is still a lot to be gained from having a Facebook Business page. Facebook has become a difficult platform for businesses to grow organically, but it’s not impossible!

Here are all the ways you can grow your business on the platform.

Share your posts!

Sharing your posts to your personal profile is a great way to increase your reach and tell your friends about your business.

Share one post per week to your personal page and invite your friends to follow your business page for more information on what you do.

Over the course of the pandemic, many people realised all the ways they can support businesses. One of them is to like and follow the page. By doing this, your friends and family increase the reach of your business page, putting it in front of a larger audience and helping you be known by more people.

Vary your posts!

One thing I’ve noticed as a social media specialist is that people want to be entertained on social media. They don’t want to see the same posts again and again, it gets boring.

How many times have you been scrolling through social media, regardless of the platform, and been bored with everyone sharing the same style of photo? Your audience can be just like you. If you are always putting out the same style of content, people will get bored. Keep your Facebook Business page fresh and exciting by posting different things.

Facebook encourages and likes variations in your posts – use them!

Facebook allows you to post:

πŸ’œ Prose

πŸ’š Images

πŸ’œ Videos

πŸ’š Polls

πŸ’œ Lives

πŸ’š Reels

πŸ’œ Stories

πŸ’š GIFs

Are you taking advantage of the different styles of posts you can do? Vary your content to keep your audience engaged.

Use Facebook Groups!

Facebook Groups are a fantastic way for you to get your business name out there!

Join groups as your business page and get involved in the conversations happening!

If you search for groups on Facebook you will find industry-related groups, location-based groups and a wide manner of opportunities for you to get involved. If you want to get your business name out there and build your brand, you need to be active in groups.

Respond quickly!

Responding to messages sent to your business page will help the algorithm to know that you are active on the platform. It boosts your business page.

You also need to be responding to any comments made on your page, even if it’s a simple “thank you for commenting”. Again, this helps the algorithm to know that you are here and using the platform.

It’s the same with comments on Facebook Groups. Respond to people who are commenting back to you.

What do you want your followers to do?

As with a lot of social media platforms, your Facebook followers need to know what you want them to do.

Include a Call To Action (CTA) in your posts and videos. Tell your audience what you want them to do.

Do you want them to:

πŸ’œ Like the post

πŸ’š Share the post

πŸ’œ Follow your page

πŸ’š Comment their thoughts

You need to tell your followers and the people seeing your posts what you want them to do. Every post you make should have one CTA. If you put more than one call to action on the post your audience will be confused as to what you want them to do and are likely to do neither.

To vary your posts you can try adding the Call to Action at the beginning or end of the text and see which is better for your audience.

Social media pages for your business are the same as turning the lights on in your shop. If you don’t turn the lights on, people don’t know that you are open for business. Having a page and leaving it dormant is the same as never turning the lights on or opening the door for a high street shop.

Facebook is still the number one social media platform in the world. Creating a business page and using it is important to let your audience know that you are still trading, even if you commit to one post per week.

You can grow your business on Facebook organically (without having to spend money on ads) but it does take time and effort to do so. I wouldn’t recommend setting one up if you don’t plan on using it.
